Technology and corporate culture: who is in the driver seat?

While putting together the program for the next ASCI conference (September 27, 2012) in Lausanne, (www.asci.ch), I have had an interesting discussion about technology and cultural intelligence. It hit me that no matter what we want to think, today, it is technology who is in the driving seat. In fact, social networks already have an huge influence on companies, simply because most employees already use social networks. Companies should not spend any more time thinking about if they should consider using social networks…they already do! The smart thing to do is to quickly figure out how to drive more motivation, loyalty, innovation and productivity from these networks.

It makes me think about the 90’s when companies were wondering if they should consider building a website….within less than a decade, they were rebuilding their business around the web!
